I’m getting away this weekend. I’ll be on a brief vacation in sunny LA. Although from what I hear it will be rainy and stormy. Before anyone pre-judges me, the unemployed can take vacations, let me answer a few questions.
Question: Are you using your unemployment benefits package to fund this trip?
Answer: No. This trip was planned pre-layoff and was paid for then too. I am not abusing the system, yet.
Question: Is it really that smart of you to go on vacation when you are unemployed?
Answer: Thank you for your concern. Since this trip is already planned I think it would be more responsible to use the flight then waste the $130 dollars I spent on the ticket.I appreciate your thoughts none the less.
Since I’ll be on vacation I will taking a hiatus from my blog for the next three days — Saturday through Monday. I know it will be hard. It’ll be hard for me too. But I am looking forward to talking about unemployment in a whole new city! No cereal, no dried beans — the things a girl can dream about.
